Funding Sources

The Butetown Regeneration Scheme consists of 5 projects which were approved for European and Welsh Government grant funding and which have been delivered over the last 3 years.
The funding has come mainly from grants from the European Regional Development Fund (£2M) and from the Welsh Government's Targeted Match Fund (£4.8M). Additional funding is being contributed through the Council's housing programme. The total amount of investment is £8 million.

Working In Partnership

The projects have all been developed in partnership with the Butetown community and Cardiff Council and they are delivering a range of economic, social and environmental benefits for residents of Butetown. The successful outcome of the European funding bid is a reflection of a lot of hard work and effort by representatives and volunteers from community organisations, as well as by the Council.
